With Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto coming out on February 3rd we’re celebrating the release with a look at our new leads and a look back at some of the most famous shinobi to grace the world of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Needless to say, there are spoilers ahead so beware.

Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha in Boruto Feature

The tragic fool used as a tool of evil

In Naruto and Naruto Shippuden there are many examples of dark mirror versions of Naruto. From Gaara to Pain there several characters who showed him his good intentions could become twisted. None were more tragic, or dangerous than Obito. Once a Konoha shinobi from the Uchiha clan Obito was as naive a daydreamer as Naruto. He also wished to become the first Uchiha to become a Hokage thus bridging the gap between the Uchiha and the rest of Konoha. Unfortunately, his desires were cut short, and he lost everything in a blink of an eye. He then spiralled into darkness and became one of the most troubled and troubling villains in Naruto history.

Tsunade Senju

Tsunade in the Boruto Feature

The Legendary Hokage Tsunade

Of all the female shinobi in Naruto, no one is deadlier or has a more tragic background (except for Kushina Uzumaki) than the Legendary Sannin Tsunade. When Naruto first began it did come under criticism for the development of the female characters that all changed when Tsunade drunkenly entered the series. She was ballsy, funny, and pretty much an utter badass when she became the first female Hokage. She was essential in the training of Sakura to help her keep up with Naruto and Sasuke and has been instrumental in the safety of Konoha, and it’s people.

Itachi Uchiha

Itachi Uchiha in Boruto Feature

The greatest hero in the world of Naruto

Of all the great characters in Naruto, none come close to infamy as Itachi Uchiha. A shinobi so dangerous, so powerful, and so complex that when mentioned fans go through a multitude of emotions. From the beginning of Naruto you believed him to be a force of pure terror, a shinobi that single-handedly destroyed his clan. And when the audience is first introduced to him that belief is reinforced with his terrifying eyes and sombre mood. His presence is felt throughout the whole series until the outstanding bombshell is revealed about him in his climatic battle with his little brother Sasuke.

Heading into this latest DLC for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 entitled Road to Boruto players will be fully introduced to the cast and characters of the Boruto manga. The main characters for this DLC will include Sarada, Mitsuki, and of course Boruto himself. Telling the tale of the first arc of the manga and the film Boruto: Naruto The Movie players, will follow Boruto as he learns to become a shinobi and tries to impress his wayward father who is far too busy being the Hokage to pay attention to his son. This is where the story will go through the Chuunin exam where Boruto, Naruto and the rest of Konoha have to face a dangerous threat that has a connection to Kaguya, the god that Sasuke and Naruto sealed away in the Fourth Ninja War.

Here’s a brief introduction to the new protagonists that will be introduced in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto:

Boruto

Boruto Character Feature

Boruto heir to the Hokage.

The new “hero” in the series Boruto is the spoilt son of Naruto and Hinata. He wishes to impress his father and have Naruto pay more attention to him, and he’ll do anything to get his way. Usually, this will involve him pranking people and vandalising various areas in Konoha. He goes even as far as cheating in the Chuunin exam and using technology to give himself an edge against opponents who are clearly stronger than him. He’s not as fun as his father was at his age but he does have the same drive even if it’s misplaced. It’s early days yet to see if he is a worthy heir to Naruto.

Sarada

Sarada in Boruto Feature

Uchiha Sarada, heir to the Uchiha clan.

The child of ultimate brooder Sasuke Uchiha and his ultimate fan Sakura Haruno, Sarada is a fantastic new addition to the series. Sarada has the eyes of her father and the strength of her mother. She’s fearless, intelligent, and strong and even wishes to become Hokage herself some day. Her abilities include Fire Jutsu’s and a limited use of her sharingan, but she has already shown she has inherited a lot of her father’s innate skills. Lucky for Boruto Sarada is a part of his team as she balances his recklessness with her intelligence.

Mitsuki

Mithuki in Boruto Feature

Mitsuki, the mystery of the team.

The mysterious Mitsuki is the final piece of the puzzle for the team. Funnily enough, he is a mystery himself as fans of Boruto have not yet found out about his heritage leaving him open as something of a wildcard. His abilities are also quite strange. Utilising a form of stretching Taijutsu to attack his foes from far away there a lot of questions left unanswered about Mitsuki.

Road to Boruto expansion as well as Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto full pack, will be available on the 3rd February 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Australasia.
