Arc Savior

Indie developer Squid Monkey Studios has announced that ARC SAVIOR will be released on PC on January 31st.

Having witnessed Arc Savior in action at Dublin Games Festival 2018, I was delighted to hear of its confirmed release date. One man dev team Nik Kempsky has been (presumably) locked away in the intervening months polishing and finalising his labour of love. Arc Savior is a retro-feeling, adrenaline-fueled,  3D space combat shooter. With gameplay reminiscent of Starfox, the full release also promises 3 separate story arcs, based around a single narrative. Each story will feature its own characters, with various twists and turns, adding some serious depth to the game world. I did get the impression when talking to Nik that the story had more to offer than the usual “save the galaxy” fare. I look forward to finding out.

Release and Future

There’s a notable buzz around Arc Savior. Gaming media in the UK and Ireland have had plenty of positives for Squid Monkeys debut title. Kempskys’ hard work has also been met with a “Best Game” plaudit at the Galway Games Gathering. Lofty praise indeed! Of course, any positive reception for Arc Savior is also a plus for the industry in Ireland. After all, what better way to start 2019 than with a smashing indie space shooter? Made in Mayo, of all places!

Arc Savior will release, initially, on Windows PC via Steam. You can wishlist the game here, but there has been no price point announced just yet. A linux release is set to follow, though no confirmation for you console peasants at time of writing. Check out the Beta video after the official blurb. Trust me though, this is one you’ll wanna play, in order to appreciate. GamEir.
