The Division 2!

An announcement for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has given us details on the upcoming beta. The private beta is scheduled to run from 10 am GMT Feb 7th, until 9 am GMT Feb 11th. To translate that into “Tom Clancy-speak”, that’s 071000Feb19z – 110900Feb19z. Preloading will be available from 10 am on Feb 6th. The private beta is available only to people who have pre-ordered The Division 2, or a lucky few, selected from online applicants.

The beta will see players set up a Base of Operations (FOB in Clancy-speak), in the White House, of all places. Not exactly the most discreet location. Next, we’ll be putting a sniper nest in the Eiffel Tower(!). There on in, players can roam around a desolate Washington DC, exploring and fighting, up to the beta level cap of seven. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 beta will feature the following content:

  • Two main missions, available in Story, Normal and Hard Mode
  • Five side missions and additional activities in the open world
  • Unique PvPvE gameplay in one of the three new Dark Zones
  • Organized PvP gameplay in one Conflict mode, Skirmish

There will also be endgame content available, in the guise of one Invaded Mission, which will be unlocked at 4 pm Feb 8th GMT, and will give players access to level 30 play, along with the associated skills and perks.

No Division 2

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 beta has become the fastest registered beta event in Ubisoft history. No small feat. The first Division game sold a bucket load, in a very short time. Obviously, the interest is high with this one, and the private beta should serve to increase interest. So long as it’s good, of course. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is the next evolution in the open-world online shooter RPG genre that the first game helped establish. Set seven months after a deadly virus was released in New York City, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will bring players into a fractured and collapsing Washington D.C. The world is on the brink, its people living through the biggest crisis ever faced in human history. As veteran Division agents, players are the last hope against the complete fall of society as enemy factions vie for control of the city.
