Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, NetherRealm Studios, and Intersport have announced further details for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition 2019/2020. This is the inaugural season of the global esports program featuring the latest instalment of the iconic Mortal Kombat franchise.

The Interkontinental Kombat series will be run by Intersport and kicks off in June 2019. This will offer players of all ranks a chance to compete in four online tournaments across Europe, Middle East and Australia, including the following events:

  • August – EU East
  • August – Middle East
  • September – Australia
  • September – EU West

In addition, there will be multiple offline tournaments offering a prize pool bonus of $1,000 at each stop. The confirmed local offline events include:

  • 15th-16th June – Fighting Games Challenge (Łódź, Poland)
  • 20th-21st July – Versus Fighting (Birmingham, UK)
  • 27th-29th September – U.F.A. (Paris, France)
  • 3rd-6th October – IgroMir (Moscow, Russia)

Qualifiers from these events will then earn themselves a seat at the international finals taking place at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden from the 29th of November. through to the 1st of December.

Not only is a prize pool of $10,000 up for grabs, but the Interkontinental Kombat winner will move forward to compete in the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition championship finale. This is known as the Final Kombat, which is coming in the first quarter of 2020 in Chicago, Ill. (US).

Final Kombat will be live-streamed at Twitch.tv/NetherRealm, as will all Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition regular season tournaments.
