PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds

A gift for PUBG fans who have been clamoring for it has been announced this week. In a Steam post Thursday, developer PUBG Corp says it will release the option after sufficient time on its test server. Four months after second map Miramar was added, and with third map Savage in testing, this is great news for fans.

As with all PUBG advancements, the option will be tested and released on PC first. Undoubtedly then getting the same treatment on Xbox at a later date. The new map selection will simply be a box to tick before each match. Tick the map/maps you would like to play, and un-tick the one you don’t.

Developer PUBG Corp has been heavily involved in listening to their fan base and adapting as such.

“Ultimately, we created a version of map selection that we think is unlikely to cause issues for matchmaking. That said, we’ll still have to keep a close eye on it, since it could become problematic as new maps continue to be added,”

PUBG Corp also go on to explain that work on the system is almost complete. Its reasonable to assume this will be one feature that will arrive sooner rather than later. The Xbox One version of the game will implement a second map in May. Assuming there are no major problems with map selection on PC, console players could well get this option shortly afterwards.

The hugely popular shooter has evolved nicely since its inception as a mod. Reception to these developments has been very positive from fans and critics alike. With its fan-base continually growing, PUBG Corp seem to have the world at their feet. Don’t forget to have a quick read over their latest Steam Community update, and for all else gaming, stay right here.
