Sudden Strike 4

Publisher Kalypso Media has announced a new add-on for their World War 2 strategy Sudden Strike 4. The Africa – Desert War expansion was released yesterday for PC and Xbox One (with PlayStation 4 following on today, Europe only). Sudden Strike 4: Africa – Desert War features two new mini-campaigns with six new single-player missions from the North African campaign of World War 2.

Axis Vs Allies

Players can take the role of either Axis or Allied commanders. Allied commanders will start their campaign fighting to retake the village of Sidi Barrani during Operation Compass. The war will then take them through the Western Desert Campaign. Break the German lines in the Second Battle of El Alamein, then rout the Afrika Korps in the Battle of Mareth. Select the Axis, however, and you’ll get to start the Axis advance thought Egypt. Take Sidi Barrani from the Allies, besiege Tobruk, and finally break through their lines at the Kasserine Pass. All the beautifully rendered, historically accurate, battlefield glory you could ask for!

Sudden Strike 4: Africa – Desert War also introduces 5 new doctrine commanders and over 30 vehicles. Most notable of these new commanders is German general Erwin Rommel. Amongst the new vehicles, players can deploy a new medical truck, the Marder II Tank Destroyer, the British Bishop SPG, and the Italian Semovente da 105/25 Assault Gun.

Sudden Synopsis 4

Sudden Strike 4 was released in November 2017. Africa – Desert War is the third DLC to be released thus far. Previous entries were Road to Dunkirk, and Finland – Winter Storm. Sudden Strike 4 has been the most successful entry for the series to date. Developer Kite Games reignited what seemed a dead franchise with the fourth game. Reviews have been very positive, with many praising the immersion of the game as a high point. The main game allows players to command British, American, German, or Soviet armies. Sudden Strike 4 was also the first game in the franchise to introduce historical commanders. There are 9 commanders available, such as George Patton or Bernard Montgomery, whose unique military doctrines unlock valuable command and combat abilities for your troops.
