As a major Assassin’s Creed fan since the first game, I was thrilled when they announced they were remastering Assassin’s Creed Rogue. For anyone new to the Assassin’s Creed franchise it’s a must play series in this writers opinion. In Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, which is a sequel to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and a prequel to Assassin’s Creed III, you play as Irish Assassin Shay Cormac with the game set in the 18th Century. The basis of the game is that the Assassin’s are searching for precursor temples to lead them to a piece of Eden, using a manuscript that Benjamin Franklin helps decipher. It’s a nerds dream having characters such as Benjamin Franklin to interact with in-game!

Shay meet’s Adewale and learns of an earthquake in Port-Au-Prince. With his skills as a captain and his newly acquired ship The Morrigan, Shay sets out on his journey to find out why the Templar’s are after the piece of Eden. Shay finds himself in Lisbon where he tries to retrieve a piece of Eden but it sets off another earthquake killing lots of innocent lives. Shay soon discovers that the Assassin’s are still going to search for it despite the loss of innocent lives so Shay goes rogue and teams up with the Templars to find it before the Assassin’s do.

The Morrigan :

Similar to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag you captain a ship. I love this aspect of the game. There are plenty of upgrades for the Morrigan so you can customise it to suit yourself. Not only that The Morrigan is the main travel system for Shay on his journey. There are sea battles of course which is so much fun, the player uses the cannons and puckle guns to blast your enemy’s with the option to sink or salvage ships you can recruit crew, salvage resources as well as repair the Morrigan.

Multiplayer :

Unfortunately Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered doesn’t have a multiplayer feature which is a shame because multiplayer with the Morrigan would be awesome in my opinion.

Overall :

Without giving away too much of the game it’s a savage play through with plenty of main and mini-quests to do and lots to pillage along the way. I also highly recommend anyone interested in Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered to play through Assassin’s Creed III and definitely Assassin’s Creed Black Flag which has also been remastered.
