Rebellion has just graced us with a new trailer and a release date for Evil Genius 2. The long-awaited villain simulator has teased us for the last 4 years. The original RTS was released in 2004. A satirical game about running your very own supervillain organisation. It draws a lot of inspiration from the James Bond movies of the ’60s and ’70s.
Over the last year, we’ve seen a lot of activity from Rebellion on everything new with Evil Genius 2. And now finally we have a release date. Evil Genius 2: World Domination will be released on Steam on March 30th.
In Evil Genius 2, you’ll have your choice between four criminal masterminds. An Austin Powers influenced Max, the communist madman Ivan, a spy orientated Emma and a science-focused Zalika. Each of these villains will have their own unique campaign. You’ll have three islands to choose from. On this island, you will start to carve out your evil lair. Design, build and customise your base and your workforce of henchmen. Then get started on all the nefarious acts of infamy you can think of.
As you play Evil Genius 2, you’ll discover missions around the globe. In the old game called these missions “Acts of Infamy”. Your minions will have certain skills that will be needed for specific missions. Send these minions to cause havoc, steal important artefacts and recruit more henchmen. The new game boasts being able to infiltrate Fort Knox or even creating your very own breathing dodo.
Rebellion has promised that more info is on the way. Over the next few weeks, we’ll find out about a new game mode. Be sure to check out the launch trailer.
