Warner Bros. Games and DC have shown off a new story trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This genre-defying, action-adventure third-person shooter in development from Rocksteady Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series.
Debuted at DC FanDome (which I adored), the brand-new story trailer reveals a new origin of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X a.k.a. the Suicide Squad. This iteration includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark. This crazy quartet grudgingly embarks on their mission to take down The Justice League. That’s right these four are to take on the most powerful beings on Earth.
The bad versus the best
Featuring an original narrative set within an expansive open-world Metropolis (thank god it’s not Gotham), Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force as well as legendary DC Super Heroes who are now laser-focused on destroying those they once vowed to protect. All the while, the squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance.
There is also another player in the wings that no one seems to be talking about. The invading alien force. No one is talking about how it is clearly being led by the alien intelligence Brainiac and he’s taken over our heroes. It’ll be interesting to see how he looks in this latest iteration. That is in my opinion some of the most fun in comics. Seeing these new versions appear and shake things up.
Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available worldwide in 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
