It has been announced that the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game (“FFTCG”) has shipped over 110 million cards worldwide which is an incredible feat, especially for such a young game. The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game after all only began back in 2011.

The latest wave in the series, the “Opus IV” card set, is also available across Europe now and introduces newly illustrated card designs based on beloved games from the Final Fantasy franchise, including Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. The set also incorporates new “Monster” type cards, which feature different abilities and play styles for fans to utilise.

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Opus Series recently held its first world championships at the Square Enix Headquarters in Tokyo in November. Leading up to the event, regional tournaments took place with over 2000 participants across Japan, Europe, Oceania and North America. The FFTCG tournament circuit saw the crowning of the first ever European & World champion who will have to defend both titles in 2018.
