Project Borealis, the unofficial team behind Half-Life 2: Epistle 3, based on the released Marc Laidlaw’s Epistle 3 script – have released their 3rd update. The update includes the first in-engine footage, an announcement that the first story draft has been finished, new concept art, and a new music compilation. The team is also opening a number of new positions.

The update video above announces that the Project Borealis writing team have finished the first draft of the game’s story. It also includes new concept art, including houndeye and Combine Elite enemy designs and a new music compilation.

Additionally, the team announced openings in a number of teams. Position details and application forms can be found in the update.

“Update 3 represents a sizable step forward in our team’s ongoing efforts to bring Marc Laidlaw’s story to life.” commented Project Borealis Project Manager Michael Dunaway, “we are proud of our team’s steady progress and can’t wait to see the community’s reactions to our efforts showcased in this update”

Project Borealis is a development team consisting of 60+ Half-Life fans from around the world who came together to create a game based on Marc Laidlaw’s Epistle 3 (Half-Life 2: Episode 3) script, released in August 2017. The game is being created using Unreal Engine 4, which will be adapted to feel as close as possible to the Source engine used in Half-Life 2 and its episodes.
