The popular horror game franchise, Five Nights At Freddy’s has finally arrived to Dead By Daylight and brings many new players along with it, breaking it’s previous Steam record.
Dead By Daylight broke its record player count on Steam with the release of the new update. As of writing this article, the player count is currently at an impressive 105,185 all-time peak. The Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter is perhaps the biggest crossover Dead By Daylight has done in its history. Since then many iconic franchises and characters have been introduced to the game.
Horror icons Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger were added in 2016 and 2017. Iconic characters from the Resident Evil series like everyone’s favorite boulder punching hero, Chris Redfield have also been introduced.
The increase in players flooding Dead By Daylight right now is hardly surprising, considering the fact that The Five Nights At Freddy’s series has been one of the most popular horror franchises over the last few years since it began with its very first video game entry, the original Five Nights At Freddy’s game in 2014. Since then, it has spawned many sequels, spin-offs, merchandise and a live-action movie in 2023, which was a big box office hit, grossing 297 million dollars at the box office. A sequel is currently in development and scheduled for release in 2025.
Springtrap Is Finally Here
Springtrap is the latest licensed killer introduced in Dead By Daylight. This new killer brings many new gameplay mechanics like the introduction of security doors scattered around the map which allows survivors and Springtrap himself to teleport to random parts of the map.
If Springtrap is entering the security doors at same time as an unfortunate survivor, he can grab them by surprise. When that happens, prepare for a loud and terrifying jump scare. He also has some special abilities as well to make hunting survivors more effective. Springtrap has the ability to throw axes at survivors. If he successfully hits a survivor, they will be unable to heal until they remove the axe from their person.
The Five Nights At Freddy’s free update is available on all platforms now for players to download and enjoy.
