Blaze Entertainment has announced the next cartridge collection for Evercade from its ongoing partnership with Crystal Dynamics with the Legacy of Kain Collection.

These two classic titles from the 32-bit era are still adored by gaming fans to this day. With Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver having sold over 1.5 million units. This new Evercade collection sees the combination of the two games. The first game, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. All in one physical collection for the first time.

The Legacy of Kain Collection is the next release for Evercade with the new Giga Cart format. This allows for larger and more complex games to be included on the same-sized physical cartridge.

The new collection will be released in September. The collection will be released alongside the recently announced Bitmap Brothers Collection 2. It will be available to pre-order from August 30th. The price of this collection will be the new Giga Cart price of £22.49, $24.99 and €24.99.

The Legacy of Kain series debuted in 1996. The first title Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain quickly became a critical and fan favourite. With its vampiric setting, deep gameplay mechanics and engaging storyline. Following the successful introduction of the eponymous anti-hero Kain, the sequel Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was released in 1999 with industry legend Amy Hennig at the helm.

The Legacy of Kain Collection – Nothing comes for free

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver garnered even more success and critical acclaim. Likely due to the move from 2D role-playing game mechanics to 3D third-person action, and the introduction of anti-hero Raziel. The game has lived long in the memory of many fans. It also spawned three sequels and cultivated a fan following over two decades after its initial release.

This collection marks the second release from Blaze Entertainment and Crystal Dynamics for the Evercade cartridge Ecosystem, continuing the desire to bring more historic AAA gaming to Evercade platforms. This cartridge is also compatible with all Evercade systems running the latest firmware. This includes the recently announced Evercade Alpha, EXP-R and VS-R systems, and all HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket consoles.

Like all Evercade cartridge collections, these games will come on a single physical cartridge and a plastic clamshell case (numbered #41 with the red console spine. It also includes a full-colour manual with great detail about both of the games.
