Publisher Dotemu (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Streets of Rage 4) and developer The Game Kitchen (Blasphemous series) have released the first-ever playable demo of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound. This 2D sidescrolling action platformer inherits the legacy of KOEI TECMO GAMES’ NINJA GAIDEN series.
Ninjas can get the jump on slaying demonic evil by downloading the demo on Steam, as part of the Steam Next Fest. The full digital release is scheduled for July 31th. The title will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox.
NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound Demo Features:
- A Dojo-style Tutorial: Master the basics of your ninja abilities and actions under the watchful eye of your master, Ryu Hayabusa, preparing yourself to spar with scores of enemies in the high-stakes clashes ahead.
- Three Wholly Unique Stages:
- Seized by Dark Forces: Rise to defend the Hayabusa Clan’s decimated home from a sudden otherworldly demonic invasion, battling through blazing buildings and an exhilarating showdown against a winged, fire-breathing colossus.
- Entwined Fates: Meet Kumori, the second playable character in NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, in a trial spanning cliffsides and a bloodsoaked lake. Swapping between two distinctly powerful ninjas and their skillsets is the only hope of clearing the traps, pitfalls and formidable leviathans that await.
NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound begins immediately after the opening moments of the original NES title. The veil between the human and demon realms has broken, leaving the world linked with a gate to darkness. Since Ryu Hayabusa leaves the Hayabusa Village to avenge his father, Kenji Mozu, a fledgling Hayabusa Clan Ninja, must rise to slay the forces of evil.
Special guest composers Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai—creators of the original NES NINJA GAIDEN trilogy’s soundtracks—have contributed to NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound. Leading the soundtrack is Sergio de Prado, best known for his work on the acclaimed Blasphemous series.
