EA has announced that Battlefield 6 has broken a new record for the FPS franchise. Battlefield 6 released 10 October to acclaim from fans and critics for its addicting and chaotic multiplayer and it seems that EA’s biggest FPS franchise is back as they announced that Battlefield 6 sold 7 million copies in its first three days. This makes it the biggest launch in the series.
Battlefield Is Back
It is no surprise that Battlefield 6 has achieved these numbers. The Open Beta in August broke records with hundreds of thousands logging on. They even beat Call of Duty’s all time player count on Steam. Battlefield 6 even had over 700,000 players on Steam on launch day. According to EA, over 172 million matches have been played and over 15 million hours were watched on streaming sites during the 3-day weekend.
“First and foremost we want to thank our players,” said Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield. “Battlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players we’ve had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning – our first season of new content is just 12 days away.”
EA and DICE are moving really fast with Battlefield 6 with a few updates already released balancing the game and fixing bugs. But the biggest is yet to come with Season 1 launching 28 October. Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President and overseer of Battlefield 6 had this to say.
“We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead.”

Not Slowing Down
Battlefield 6 will be launching Season 1 in less than 2 weeks. The first phase is called Rogue Ops with a new map called Blackwell Fields. There will also be a new game mode called Strikepoint, new weapons and a new vehicle. Lots to look forward to for Battlefield fans.
