A big day for fans of post-apocalyptic sci-fi action RPGs starring cyborg ladies as Stellar Blade’s long-awaited crossover with Nier Automata is now here! From Stellar Blade’s earliest public appearances, the similarities between the two titles have been much discussed and with the good relationships between the developers, this combo is a bit of a no-brainer.

So what is this new paid content? Unfortunately, despite the hype surrounding this team-up, it’s incredibly sparse. Just a few Nier-inspired outfits for EVE and her companions including the drone. Nier NPC shopkeeper Emil can now be found within the world of Stellar Blade, selling these eleven items. The far more exciting additions in this update are a brilliantly realised photo mode for capturing the amazing apocalyptic world of the game as well as free cosmetics and quality-of-life additions. The game has been optimised for the PS5 Pro so it’s a great time for players to jump in.

Stellar Blade impressed despite some shortcomings in our original review. Here’s hoping that Shift-Up has some more substantial expansions in the pipeline. In the meantime, Stellar Blade also had a crossover with the superb recently thanks to the free DLC speed-run levels offered there, check it out!
