Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games to be given the remastered treatment. With the recent swarm of remastered titles such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy and the 2016 release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered, the gaming community wait patiently for the announcement that Modern Warfare 2 will be re-released on its 10th anniversary.
Not much information is out regarding the titles remastering with many rumors suggesting the game would be coming out with the latest edition of the series, Black Ops 4, in 2018. However, this did not come to any kind of reality with Black Ops 4 being just a standalone title in the series with the debut of Activision take on Battle Royale modes, Blackout.
This year’s Call Of Duty cycle falls on the lap of Infinity Ward, the very developer that created Modern Warfare 2 but who also created the all mighty dumpster fire known as Infinite Warfare in 2016 that really only sold because of its bundle with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered. With the 3-year cycle now coming to a head for Infinity Ward many people cling to the hope that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will, in fact,t sell as a bundle along with this years Call Of Duty title.
PEGI’s website had leaked a rating for a title called Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 campaign remastered a few weeks ago, this could indicate that Modern Warfare 2 is indeed on the verge of being re-released. However, on the same web page which was removed very quickly after its publication, PEGI gave us a release date of the 28th of February which as you know has come and gone with no sign of the title appearing anywhere in a legitimate fashion. Also, the title would suggest that only the Modern Warfare 2 campaign is getting remastered and not the hugely popular multiplayer of the game which in my opinion would be a major mistake from Activision and Infinity Ward.
