Niantic, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International have revealed that the first Legendary Pokémon are now available for trainers worldwide to discover, battle, and catch in Pokémon GO. Trainers around the world and the attendees at Pokémon GO Fest in Grant Park, Chicago have worked together to catch millions of Pokémon to unlock a variety of in-game bonuses and welcome the Legendary Pokémon, Lugia and Articuno, to Pokémon GO.

Trainers can now team up together to battle Lugia and Articuno in Legendary Raid Battles everywhere starting immediately. Additionally, the Legendary Pokémon Zapdos and Moltres will also soar into Pokémon GO soon.

A new trailer was also recently released, showcasing how Trainers will collaborate to discover, battle, and catch elusive and extremely powerful Legendary Pokémon in epic Raid Battles.

The reveal of the Legendary Pokémon will bring joy to a lot of trainers that have been looking for that extra challenge in the game and this announcement may also bring back any wayward souls that have lost interest in the game since its debut last year. A particular favourite introduction into the game of mine is Lugia who always came across as a kind of space dragon and I love dragons, the best type in the whole of the Pokémon universe. What are you looking forward to now that the Legendaries are finally joining the fray? And on a final note, where is the other second generation Legendary Ho-Oh?

Trainers can also stay up-to-date on further announcements by following the game on Twitter or liking it on Facebook.
