Ghost of Yōtei: Legends was announced at PlayStation’s State of Play by developer Sucker Punch. The co-op multiplayer mode will be released for free for all owners Ghost of Yōtei 10 March on PS5.
The iconic game mode makes a return in the sequel to the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, where it was first introduced back in 2020. Legends was a surprise multiplayer addition to the single player game. Four players can team up to take down supernatural versions of the Yōtei six. They will also need to survive waves of tough enemies as they fight for control of territories on each map. Players will need to control these locations to activate a Blessing which gives them an advantage in battle. Lose control, you will be cursed which will lead to a disadvantage. Unique Blessings and Curses are available on each map.
Four classes will be available: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary and Shinobi. They each specialise in certain combat systems and special weaponry. For example, the Mercenary has access to the dual katana while the Archer can use a spear. Players can level up to unlock new equipment and higher difficulties.
Legends received positive reviews from critics and gamers when first released in Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch are hoping for similar success on Ghost of Yōtei.
”The fan response to Legends was one of the most rewarding parts of launching Ghost of Tsushima, and we’re so excited to see the mode return for Ghost of Yōtei; we can’t for you all to dive in!” Sucker Punch said on the PlayStation Blog. Ghost of Yōtei: Legends will be released 10 March. Watch the trailer below.
