KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Omega Force announced that digital pre-orders for their upcoming fantasy hunting game, WILD HEARTS S, are now available on Nintendo Switch 2. To celebrate, a new video introducing the four-player co-op gameplay with commentary from the producers has been released. Players can get a closer look at the “Karakuri”, one of the main features of WILD HEARTS S, ahead of its release on July 25th.

Tell me about WILD HEARTS S

In WILD HEARTS S, players must master an ancient technology called “Karakuri” (automaton) to hunt giant beasts across a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan. Gameplay has been enhanced on Nintendo Switch 2 for players to enjoy a deeper experience by hunting in a pack of up to four players. In multiplayer mode, whether online* or local, players will be able to craft and combine a wide variety of “Karakuri” to support them in their hunt for giant, nature-infused beasts.

By weaving the threads of “Karakuri”, players can create a wide range of items, such as crates or a glider. These items can then be combined to create more powerful “Karakuri”, such as beast-piercing blades, shields, or traps. Players will also be able to transform the hunting ground by crafting specific “Karakuri” that will remain on the field, providing a unique experience unique for each player.

In addition to the “Karakuri” used for hunting, players will be able to craft and use a variety of equipment, each with its own characteristics. From common weapons, such as “Nodachi” and “Bow”, to the more unique “Karakuri Katana” and “Bladed Wagasa”, players will have a wide range of weapons at their disposal to hunt and slay the beasts roaming the lands of Azuma. Whether wielding blazing lava, raging blizzards or miasma, these giant, nature-infused beasts will pose serious challenges for players who will need to use the materials gathered from their hunts to craft new, more powerful weapons if they are to stand any chance of survival.
