Doki Doki meets Silent Hill. Not a description I ever expected to hear, but that’s one Geoff Keighly has given to Fractured Blooms. What could warrant such a descriptor? Other than developer and publisher Serenity Forge previously publishing Doki Doki Literature Club.
In Fractured Blooms, you’ll play as Angie. Angie is stuck in a time loop, where she must restore her neglected house to its former glory. You’ll get to grow crops, cook meals, learn new recipes, and take care of the other inhabitants. But this is a psychological horror game, so things can’t stay that cute.
Every loop will test your resource management. Every day must be planned. Routine is essential. However, something will shift each day. Starting small at first. But Angie will begin to notice, remember, see, feel. Just like in the real world, actions matter. And in Fractured Blooms, the cycle will always remember. Something is blooming.
At this point in time, there is no sign of a release date just yet. The mature content description on Steam is already quite hefty, and I can’t help but hope it grows. Fractured Blooms has a very interesting premise, and the team behind it know how to create a solid atmosphere. Let’s hope the release isn’t too far away.
