It’s official! House of Ashes, the latest instalment in The Dark Pictures Anthology will release on October 22nd, 2021 across PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
So, what do we know so far? Well, for starters, House of Ashes will feature multiple play modes. The first is a single-player mode, next is a two-player online co-op. The game will also include the ‘Movie Night’ mode, a couch co-op experience for up to 5 people.
Story-wise, the game is set in Iraq, 2003. A military unit comes under fire from Iraqi forces. The resulting firefight causes an earth tremor where both sides fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. All communication is severed. Protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape.
However, something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt. Horrific discoveries and impossible decisions now face the survivors as they strive to escape the terrifying threat they awakened. But how will they react to the events? Will they each prioritize their own survival? Or will they put aside their fears and personal rivalries to fight together as one against these underworld monsters?
Unfortunately, we have to wait until October to find out.
