Chapter 23 is coming, and it’s right around the corner… Sadako Rising: Dead by Daylight is crawling from the depths of the well on March 8th. A dark presence lurks beneath the water, ready and waiting to spread its curse. This upcoming chapter is inspired by Kōji Suzuki’s novel Ringu and the original film adaptation. Featured within, we have new Killer Sadako, as well as new Survivor, Yoichi Asakawa, the only protagonist of the Ringu franchise to ever have survived Sadako’s rage.

For anyone who may recognise the characters but not the name, there’s a reason! Ringu received an American remake called The Ring.  Sadako was changed to Samara for the purpose of the movie. There was also a parody in Scary Movie 3. However, none of these are very good. Stick with the originals, trust me. But also join me in getting excited for this new chapter!

Sadako was left to perish and rot in a watery grave. However, gifted with otherworldly power, her violent wrath manifested into a cursed videotape. This would then allow her to appear before the viewers, curse them and leave them dead, their faces twisted in a mask of terror. In game, she’s known as The Onryō.

Sadako Rising introduces psychological horror to the game, a fresh change from the regular slasher style. You don’t want to miss this.
