After its initial reveal back in 2022, things on the Silent Hill: Townfall front have been quiet. Too quiet. That is, until the latest State of Play gave us a whole trailer! We have now been treated to our first real look at what Silent Hill: Townfall is set to bring. The game is being developed by Screen Burn and being co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami. Much like Silent Hill f, it is a self-contained story set within the Silent Hill universe.
What do we know about Townfall so far?
Silent Hill: Townfall is a first-person psychological horror, set in the new, isolated backdrop of St. Amelia, Scotland. The goal of this entry is to evolve the psychological horror, while still keeping with the main themes displayed across the franchise. These include grief, mystery, tragedy and loss.
Our protagonist is Simon Ordell, who has been called back to St. Amelia to “put things right”. The town is buried beneath heavy fog, abandoned but lacking peace. The only possessions Simon has are the clothes he is wearing, an IV bag, and a medical band with his name on it. Additionally, on his journey, he picks up an old CRTV. The voices heard from it are his guides in this dark world. Silent Hill: Townfall will be experienced entirely in first person, while continuing the mix of stealth and combat familiar to the series. So far, this is all we know. However, the game is set to release this year, so more news is sure to follow.
Silent Hill: Townfall is set for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
