If there’s one decade that won’t die, it’s the 90’s. Just this past week Windjammers got a sequel announced, a new game for the Megadrive is on the way and now this. 24 years since the last installment, Streets of Rage is back with Streets of Rage 4.
Unlike Hardcore, this is a brand new game developed from the ground up by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games to rekindle the magic of the arcade classic.
Like Windjammers, Streets of Rage 4 looks to be largely down to the efforts of publisher DotEmu who seem determined to bring the glory of the arcade back to life. The game will feature an all-new story, hand-drawn assets and the ability to play co-op. This has to be great news to any fans of this classic series, let’s just hope they do it justice.
This is great especially for anyone who is a fan of the Streets of Rage series. The vivid colours, the intense action, and the over the top animation looks wonderfully slick. Not just that but the score is completely intoxicating. Even though it’s a simple announcement trailer, Streets of Rage 4 has made itself known to the world in a big bad way.
