GamEir is looking for writers

Hi everyone Graham Day founder of GamEir here. I’m writing this because I’m interested in bringing on an intimate team of contributors who are interested in reviewing games, reporting on news in the industry and gain valuable experience going into the tricky world of journalism.

I can’t offer much – you won’t be paid as I don’t have a budget to actually pay anyone with but there are many benefits to avail of, for example:

• You will gain access to review opportunities for upcoming videogame titles
• You will get to have your voice heard being part of an award-winning website like GamEir
• You will learn a ton of experience that will help you in any avenue of journalism you wish to pursue
• You will have the opportunity to attend Irish conventions and interview the various talents at them

I’m looking to fill the following positions with enthusiastic people looking to help make GamEir the best videogame media outlet in Ireland:

• News Reporter – This position would be best suited to someone who is interested in the ins and outs of the industry who loves letting everyone know what’s going on in the world from the many rising esport leagues to the latest from the indie developers. A working knowledge of WordPress is an advantage but not essential as I’m happy to assist the transition.
• Videogame Reviewer – This position is for those who have opinions and notions about the games they play. The person(s) who fill this position will get access to a wide range of titles from the AAA to the indie. A working knowledge of WordPress is an advantage but not essential as I’m happy to assist the transition.
• Tabtletop games writer/reviewer – Videogames aren’t the only games out there in the world and I haven’t the chance to also go into detail about tabletop games/boardgames and I think it would be great to have a writer who can discuss the joys of tabletop games/boardgames.  A working knowledge of WordPress is an advantage but not essential as I’m happy to assist the transition.

The main prerequisites of a contributor to GamEir are passion and drive and these should show in your writing and so if possible please send an example of any work you may have to my email at graham@gameir.ie
